Coral Powers Adonis Concert in Zouk Mikael Entirely with Solar Energy

3 September 2026

On August 28, 2026, Coral powered an Adonis concert at the Roman Amphitheater of Zouk Mikael entirely with solar energy, marking a first for Lebanon.

The concert operated without diesel generators, using electricity stored in two mobile Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) charged from the photovoltaic installation at Coral’s headquarters.

The system combined Coral’s 925 kWp solar installation with mobile battery storage totaling 600 kWh. Electricity generated at the company’s headquarters was stored and transported to the concert venue, demonstrating how renewable energy can be used to power events away from the point of generation.

The initiative also included a reforestation component, with Coral committing to plant one tree for every ticket sold. More than 3,000 trees were allocated to the initiative, extending its environmental contribution beyond the concert itself.

Coral also offered 30 concert seats to customers through a competition on the Coral loyalty app.

Organized during Coral’s centennial year, the event provided a practical demonstration of solar generation and battery storage working together to meet the energy requirements of a live performance. It also reflected the company’s involvement in developing and supporting new energy solutions in Lebanon.
